"engeki"

I enjoy watching engeki, or theater, especially when they are adapted from great screen films.
My wonderful mom informed me she got tickets for the engeki "A Christmas Story", based on the absolute best holiday movie ever made (thanks mom!)

I grew up watching this movie as a child, and will never forget Ralphie and his desperate attempts at acquiring a red rider bee bee gun from Santa for Christmas. Never seen it? Well, if you have the TNT channel you can watch a full 24 hours of this movie back to back during the "Christmas Story" marathon starting on New Years Eve. If you don't have TNT, rent it - and you, too will be singing the famous line "You'll shoot your eye out!" and perhaps even try to persuade a friend or two to stick their tongues on a flag pole in the freezing cold.

Anyways, my friend from New Zealand will also be attending the engeki. I wonder if they know "A Christmas Story" over there?

In case you're wondering, "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" comes in a close second! Wonder if they'll ever make an engeki out of this one? If so, I am there!
